ABSTRAK :
Mental health among Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) personnel is a critical
aspect that significantly impacts operational readiness and institutional resilience. Military
duties, traumatic experiences, and extreme workloads are major factors contributing to
mental disorders such as schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, and paranoia.
However, limited access to psychological services often results in undetected cases. This study
aims to develop a web-based expert system to perform early diagnoses of mental health
disorders in TNI personnel using the forward chaining method. This method enables the
system to draw conclusions based on user-input symptoms and provide relevant diagnoses and
treatment recommendations. The system was developed using the CodeIgniter 3 framework,
PHP programming language, and MySQL database. The development process follows the
Extreme Programming (XP) methodology. Testing through the black-box method showed that
all system features functioned as intended and received positive feedback from users. This
expert system is expected to serve as an effective and efficient tool for early mental health
diagnosis and support the digital transformation of mental health services within the military
environment.
