Gold was known as a rare metal and has a unique characteristic that gold meta with a higher purity levels can be more pliable. Therefore, that kind of gold must be mixed by another metal but in advanced this process of gold mixing required more practical way in practice. Started from this case, the researcherdesigned the system to help detecting gold’s color of an object using Android smartphone devices. In this gold level detector, the thing that will be analysed was background color separation with result accumulated of RGB average. Then collected into a range was obtained from content testing of the original object. Problems image was analyzed by testing for gold-colored objects at various distances and conditions. Based on the test performed, the application was built to recognize the image of a gold color was pretty good enough. In another case, the gold image color can not be recognized well over due shooting position factor the image object that are not defined maximally. The test result carried out on 30 samples of the 18-carat by 3.3%, 19-carat samples were 10%, 20-carat samples were 13.3%, 21-carat samples were 20%, 22-carat samples were 26.6% and 26.6% of samples 23-carat . The test results obtained in yellow gold content detection system was not so good if only using color parameters.
