ABSTRAK :
Komponen cockpit voice recorder (CVR) adalah komponen yang berfungsi untuk merekam suara yang terdengar didalam cockpit suatu pesawat terbang. Komponen ini berisi data-data suara yang akan digunakan untuk memudahkan proses investigasi ketika suatu pesawat mengalami kecelakaan.Data-data suara yang terekam adalah seluruh data suara 30 menit terakhir sebelum terjadi kecelakaan. Namun CVR ini memiliki kelemahanyaitu menggunakan media rekam berupa pita magnetik dan dilengkapi dengan head record dan head erase yang secara terus menerus berotasi ketika CVR aktif sehingga menyebabkan head record kotor. Apabila head record kotor, maka CVR tidak dapat merekam dengan sempurna.
Salah satu cara untuk mengetahui performa CVR yang tidak dapat merekam dengan sempurna yaitu dengan melakukan pengetesan dan pengecekan awal pada komponen CVR. Kerusakan pada komponen CVR terjadi karena head record pada tape deck assembly yang terus menerus berotasi menjadi kotor.Troubleshoting di workshop dilakukan sesuai dengan component maintenance manual 23-70-40.Troubelshooting dilakukan dengan membersihkan head record yang kotor dengancoton swab dan isopropyl alcohol 70% kemudian dilaksanakan pengetesan ulang dengan menggunakan test band di workshop.
Setelah dilakukan troubleshooting dan pengetesan ulang, komponen CVR dapat bekerja dengan baik kembali. Indikasi dari komponen dapat bekerja dengan baik kembali yaitu dengan adanya indikator berupa dua suara “beep” dan dua suara “beep” yang disertai dengan penunjukan jarum test meter pada test band yang bergerak sebanyak dua kali.

ABSTRACT
The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) component is a component that functions to record sounds heard in the cockpit of an aircraft. This component contains voice data that will be used to facilitate the investigation process when an aircraft has an accident. The voice duration that recorded is the last 30 minutes before an accident occurs. However, CVR also has the weakness that is using recording media in the form of magnetic tape and is equipped with head records and head erases that continuously rotate when the CVR is active so that it causes a dirty head record. If the head record is dirty, the CVR cannot record perfectly.
One way to know the performance of CVR that cannot record perfectly is by checking and first testingthe CVR component. The failure of the CVR component occurs because the head record on the tape deck assembly continues to rotate, make the head record is dirty. Troubleshoting in the workshop can be done by following procedures in component maintenance manual 23-70-40.Troubelshooting was done by cleaning dirty head records with cotton swab and 70% isopropyl alcohol then retesting using the test band in the workshop.
After doing troubleshooting and retesting, CVR the components could workwell again. The indication is two beeps (voice only) and two beeps accompanied by the appointment of a test meter needle on a moving test band twice.
