ABSTRAK :
An airplane is aerodynimacally designed to reduce wind resistance or drag. During the flight, the landing gears are not needed as they increase the drag so a landing gear mechanism is designed to fold the gears into the fuselage. The types of landing gear are varied such as MARCHETTI SF-260 has tricycle landing gear. The material used in the landing gear (main wheel and nose wheel) is steel alloy.
In the fork nose landing gear structure force analysis, the modelling was designed using CATIA software with shape and size closed to the real condition. The analysis method was static case analysis by companing the analysis result with the AISI 4340 and AISI 4140 steel. The next, the maximum stress and margin of safety were achiered using different load factor size and mesh value.
From the analysis using CATIA, it could be concluded that the MARCHETTI SF-260's fork nose landing gear structure was safe at the different load factor (n) and number of mesh (MS) in which the main wheel and nose wheel touched simultaneously.
